a frugal & chic happy girl’s day

Posted on

fru·gal [ froo-guhl ]:
entailing little expense; requiring few resources

chic [ sheek ]:
stylishness and elegance

These two words describe this project.  Made these treat packets earlier this month in honor of Girl’s Day which is celebrated every year on March 3rd.

Very little time and supplies are needed to make these thus it being frugal.  Basically all I did was print the design on sealed envelopes from my computer, cut the envelopes in half, and then used my Martha Stewart doiley lace edger punch which gave it it’s  “chicness”.

Packet is the perfect size for a homemade baked cookie but what I put was individually wrapped senbei (Japanese style rice crakers).

Jump Into Your Grace Space

Today’s message from guest speaker, Pastor John McMartin, at Inspire Church Waikele was my inspiration for this cute card.

The message was about jumping into your grace space!

Psalm 84:10-11 tells us why we want to position ourselves in the grace space:
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.  For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:10-11 ESV).

I am entering this card into Creating in Faith, Hope and Love’s weekly challenge (#FHL1).

May you jump into your grace space this week!

Simple Party Favor Treat Bags

Posted on

These “WooWhoo” party favor treat bags were simple to make.

Sealed the envelopes, printed my design on them, trimmed the top with pinking scissors, on the bottom left of the treat bag I used a single hole punch , slipped a crazy straw through it, and filled it with a bag of candy and a small toy.

See so simple!

fel●low●ship

fel·low·ship
A close association of friends or equals sharing similar interests.

I’ve also heard Pastor Rick Warren describe fellowship as two fellows on the same ship! What a great pictorial description of fellowship!

Well my fellowship boat would definitely need to fit more than two people but regardless of its size being in fellowship is a must for every Christian.

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (Hebrews 10:25 NLT)

Churches have different names for such groups like small groups, cell groups, life groups, etc. At my church we call them connect groups.

I like to think of our group as helping one another stay connected to Christ after all Jesus said “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. (John 15:5 GNTD)

I love my connect group (CG) sisters where we share our life experiences whether it be joys or sorrows, triumphs or trials, laughter or tears, and everything in between.

Here’s what I made for them last month for Valentine’s.

Praying you find a fellowship group in your church if you are not in one yet. Or if you are looking for a church come and visit us at Inspire, http://inspirechurch.tv/
